Abstract
In this article, a proceeding from the 2022 STA National Conference, Dr. Marion Anderson describes the treatment of a woman in her twenties who initially presented with suicidal ideation, eating disorder, depression and relationship difficulties. The impact of unconscious dynamics associated with a negative mother complex was identified and treated during the course of therapy lasting sixteen months. The patient’s stifled creative potential and independence revealed her unconscious dynamics and reactions. The author discusses the complex subtleties of her countertransference and how it was used to better understand the patient’s experience. Through the lens of Jungian analysis/analytic psychotherapy, the author explores the patient’s gradual reclamation of personal agency and the therapeutic necessity of addressing both the client’s and the therapist’s unconscious processes. Key to the therapeutic/analytic progress was the recognition and dismantling of the negative mother complex, which had fostered emotional paralysis, perfectionism, and suicidal ideation. In time the client became more conscious of the negative mother complex and developed a more symbolic understanding of herself.

Praktische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Negativen Mutterkomplex
Zusammenfassung: In diesem Artikel, der auf der Nationalen STA-Konferenz 2022 vorgestellt wurde, beschreibt Dr. Marion Anderson die Behandlung einer Frau in ihren Zwanzigern, die sich zunächst mit Suizidgedanken, Essstörungen, Depressionen und Beziehungsproblemen vorstellte. Im Verlauf der sechzehnmonatigen Therapie wurde der Einfluss unbewusster Dynamiken, die mit einem negativen Mutterkomplex verbunden sind, identifiziert und behandelt. Das unterdrückte kreative Potenzial und die fehlende Unabhängigkeit der Patientin offenbarten ihre unbewussten Dynamiken und Reaktionen. Die Autorin beschreibt die komplexen Feinheiten ihrer Gegenübertragung und wie diese genutzt wurde, um die Erfahrung der Patientin besser zu verstehen. Aus der Perspektive der Jung’schen Analyse/analytischen Psychotherapie untersucht die Autorin die schrittweise Wiedererlangung der persönlichen Handlungsfähigkeit der Patientin und die Notwendigkeit, sowohl die unbewussten Prozesse der Klientin als auch die der Therapeutin zu berücksichtigen. Wesentlich für den therapeutischen/analytischen Fortschritt war die Erkenntnis und Auflösung des negativen Mutterkomplexes, der emotionale Lähmung, Perfektionismus und Suizidgedanken gefördert hatte. Im Laufe der Zeit wurde die Klientin sich ihres negativen Mutterkomplexes bewusster und entwickelte ein symbolischeres Verständnis von sich selbst.

תקציר: במאמר שפותח מהרצאה שניתנה בכנס STA 2022, ד"ר מריון אנדרסון מתארת טיפול באשה בשנות העשרים לחייה אשר סבלה ממחשבות אובדניות, הפרעת אכילה, דיכאון וקשיים ביחסים. זוהתה השפעה של דינמיקה לא-מודעת שקשורה עם קומפלקס-אם שלילי, וטופלה במהלך ששה-עשר חודשים. האופן שבו החניקה את הפוטנציאל היצירתי ואת העצמאות שלה חשף אצלה דינמיקות ותגובות לא-מודעות. הכותבת דנה בדקויות המורכבות של ההעברה הנגדית שלה וכיצד השתמשה בהן כדי להבין את החוויה של המטופלת. הכותבת חוקרת את התהליך ההדרגתי של השבת הסוכנות-הפנימית האישית שחוותה המטופלת, דרך העדשה של פסיכותרפיה אנליטית יונגיאנית, ואת הצורך הטיפולי להכיר בתהליכים הבלתי-מודעים שעברו שתיהן. ההכרה בקומפלקס האם השלילי ופירוקו היו מפתח לתהליך הטיפולי. הקומפלקס טיפח שיתוק ריגשי, פרפקציוניזם ונטיות אובדניות. במשך הזמן המטופלת נעשתה יותר מודעת לקומפלקס השלילי ופיתחה הבנה עצמית סימבולית יותר.

Résumé: Dans cet article, un compte rendu de la conférence nationale STA 2022, la Dre. Marion Anderson décrit le traitement d’une femme dans la vingtaine qui présentait initialement des idées suicidaires, des troubles de l’alimentation, dépression et des difficultés relationnelles. L’impact de la dynamique inconsciente associée à un complexe de mère négative a été identifié et traité au cours de la thérapie. Avec le temps, la cliente est devenue plus consciente du complexe de la mère négative et a développé une compréhension plus symbolique d’elle-même.

Confrontação Prática com o Complexo Materno Negativo
Resumo: Neste artigo, derivado da Conferência Nacional da STA de 2022, a Dra. Marion Anderson descreve o tratamento de uma mulher na casa dos vinte anos, que inicialmente apresentava ideação suicida, transtorno alimentar, depressão e dificuldades nos relacionamentos. O impacto das dinâmicas inconscientes associadas a um complexo materno negativo foi identificado e tratado ao longo de dezesseis meses de terapia. O potencial criativo reprimido e a falta de independência da paciente revelaram suas dinâmicas e reações inconscientes. A autora discute as sutilezas complexas de sua contratransferência e como isso foi usado para melhor compreender a experiência da paciente. Sob a perspectiva da análise junguiana/psicoterapia analítica, a autora explora a recuperação gradual da autonomia pessoal da paciente e a necessidade terapêutica de abordar tanto os processos inconscientes da cliente quanto os da terapeuta. Fundamental para o progresso terapêutico/analítico foi o reconhecimento e o desmantelamento do complexo materno negativo, que havia fomentado paralisia emocional, perfeccionismo e ideação suicida. Com o tempo, a cliente tornou-se mais consciente do seu complexo materno negativo e desenvolveu uma compreensão mais simbólica de si mesma.
