Abstract
This article is an exploration of the Black Madonna, as icon and symbol in the world at this time. History of her discovery in various religions, various meanings, multicultural examples are included. The relationship to sandplay and Dora Kalff is also discussed. A clinical example of a woman who came to therapy to deal with issues associated with creativity as well as her history. During the sandplay process the image of the Black Madonna became especially important to the patient. She was unexpectedly diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. The patient lived the last years of her life having reconnected with her creativity and inner meaning.

Die Schwarze Madonna
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Dieser Beitrag ist eine Untersuchung der Schwarzen Madonna, einer Ikone und einem Symbol in unserer heutigen Welt. Ein klinisches Fallbeispiel beschreibt eine Frau die Therapie suchte um mit ihrer Kreativität und persönlichen Geschichte besser umgehen zu lernen. Die schwarze Madonna war wichtig für die Patientin. Unerwartet wurde sie mit Brustkrebs diagnostiziert und lebte die letzen Jahre ihres Lebens erfüllt und kreativ.
