Abstract
Inside the sandplay therapy setting, both therapist and patient share the amorphous space of a room, and awareness of the boundaries and rectangular space of the sand tray. Both will simultaneously participate in unconscious access to the invisible formless space of our imagination, with no mind to receive an image, and with no pre-conceived intention to influence the invisible net of our imagination, that is cast into the infinite ocean of the unconscious. This net will catch “themes” of wounding and healing, which the psyche then transposes into forms. Theme needs to become embodied in form to make it accessible to ourselves and others. “Form is the visible shape of content” (Shahn, 1972). Forms are created in the sand, or chosen as miniatures, and installed within the sand tray. In sandplay, invisible maps guide us—an inner psychic map of that day’s journey, a map of the unfolding sandplay process, and the invisible map of placement within the rectangular sandplay itself. For example, the opposites in our psyche tend to emerge from corners and engage each other in the center. In eight spontaneous sandplays done by a small boy until 5 years 8 months of age, these invisible maps can be seen to guide his sandplay process—of his sense of self on that day, of stages of the journey, and of the precise form of each sand picture within the rectangle of the sand tray.

תקציר: המטפל והמטופל חולקים את החלל האמורפי של המרחב הטיפולי של המשחק בחול, מתוך קשיבות לגבולותיו הברורים של המהלך הטיפולי: הזמן המשותף והקצוב, החדר הבטוח והמוגן וכמובן המרחב המלבני והמוחלט של ארגז החול.
שניהם, המטפל והמטופל, משתתפים בו-זמנית, כל אחד בדרכו, במסע אל תוך הרשת הבלתי נראית של דמיונם. רשת הדמיון מושלכת לאוקיינוס האינסופי של התת-מודע, לוכדת ומעלה תֵמות של פצע וריפוי. הנפש תתרגם את אלה לצורות וסמלים.
רחשי הלב של הנפש מתגלמים בצורה ובחומר, בתבניות מוגדרות, ומאפשרים גישה אל פנימיותנו ופנימיותם של אחרים. תבניות נוצרות בחול עצמו או בעזרת הנחת מיניאטורות נבחרות על ידי המטופל ומיקומן על שולחן החול.
במשחק בחול מובילות אותנו כמה מפות בלתי נראות: המפה הפנימית של מסע הנפש ביום הטיפול עצמו, מפת התהליך הטיפולי המתמשך והמתגלה אט-אט, והמפה המוחשית המצטיירת על גבי שולחן החול – למשל, הניגודים בתוך נפשנו נוטים להתגלות בפינות שולחן החול ולבסוף להיפגש במרכז השולחן.
שמונה טיפולים של ילד לאורך שנים אחדות (מגיל כשנתיים ועד חמש ושמונה חודשים), שכללו משחקי חול ספונטניים, מסרטטים את המפות הנסתרות שמובילות את התהליך הטיפולי: מפת המסע הפנימי שלו באותו יום נתון, מפה המורכבת משלבים שונים לאורך כל התהליך ,ולבסוף המפה המדויקת של התמונה שנוצרה בתוך שולחן החול המלבני.

Ein Unsichtbares Netz in den Unsichtbaren Unbewußten Ozean, Werfen und die Widerspiegelung der Psyche auf einer Unsichtbaren Landkarte Auffangen
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Im Sandspiel werden wir von inneren Landkarten geleitet, eine inner psychische Landkarte der Tagesreise, einen Plan des sich entfaltenden Sandspielprozesses so wie einen unsichtbaren plan der Positionierung innerhalb des rechteckigen Sandkasten. In acht Sandspielen eines kleinen Jungenswerden diese unsichtbaren Pläne sichtbar.
