Abstract
The theory of chakras comes from the Sanskrit tradition of India and the ancient science of yoga. There are 7 of these “gates” that are known to store information in the form of our psychological tendencies, habits, and desires. It is believed that our desires, limitations, and complexes sink in the spine to become lodged at the area of its respective chakra. The author has observed that these “vrittis” (trapped energy) are occasionally expressed in sandplay and eventually become released as the process unfolds. This article first describes the qualities and sandplay expressions of the 7 chakras. It then follows the expression of a traumatized energy in the lumbar chakra of a woman, suffering from PTSD from a childhood rape, who did a 13-month sandplay process.

Die Chakren in der Sandspieltherapie
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Dieser Beitrag beschreibt zuerst die Eigenschaften und Ausdrucksweisen der sieben Chakren. Die Autorin zeigt einen 13 Monate langen Sandspielprozeß einer Frau die nach einer Vergewaltigung in ihrer Kindheit unter posttraumatischen Belastungsstörungen litt.
