Abstract
This article represents a proceeding from the Sandplay Therapists of America National Conference, 2022. Judy Zappacosta, plenary speaker, discussed inner landscapes, as understood by Jung that include many aspects seen in both sandplay therapy and analytical psychology. The author explores the ancient act of pilgrimage, and showed how it became mirrored in the sandplay therapy of a man with great shyness, shame, and insecurity. In his sandplay therapy process the client confronted his fears and terrors, as well as generational trauma. His time in therapy included a symbolic cross-country journey that became his pilgrimage for discovering his life in new ways and developing ego-strength.

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: In diesem Artikel untersucht die Autorin den uralten Wallfahrtbrauch. Sie beschreibt das Bild der Pilgerfahrt in der Sandspieltherapie eines schüchternen, unsicheren Mannes. Der Klient stellte sich seinen Ängsten und Schrecken sowie dem Generationstrauma. Seine therapeutischer Prozess stellte eine symbolische Reise dar, die zu seiner Pilgerreise wurde, in der er sein Leben auf eine neue Weise entdeckte und größere Ich-Stärke entwickelte.

RESUMEN: En este artículo el autor explora el antiguo acto de peregrinación y cómo se reflejó en la terapia de juego de arena de un hombre que experimentó timidez, vergüenza e inseguridad. Durante su terapia de juego de arena, el cliente se enfrentó a sus miedos y terrores, así como a un trauma generacional. RÉSUMÉ: Dans cet article, l'auteur explore l'acte ancien du pèlerinage et comment il s'est reflété dans la thérapie par le jeu de sable d'un homme qui a connu la timidité, la honte et l'insécurité. Au cours de sa thérapie par le jeu de sable, le client a affronté ses peurs et ses terreurs ainsi qu'un traumatisme générationnel.
