Abstract
In her article, “Elizabeth’s Journey: Transformation of Trauma,” the author describes the psychotherapeutic process of a woman with a family history which included multiple traumatic circumstances including alcohol use disorder, abandonment and more. The patient, with a history of treament for thyroid cancer which included surgery and chemotherapy, reported feeling depressed after childbirth when she had to remain at home alone with her baby for a substantial period. The author notes that the client had experienced early trauma in the mother–child relationship and psychological and physical abandonment. She suffered from insecure attachment, etc. During the course of two years of therapy, the client created fifteen sandplay scenes. The client’s process presented a journey of transformation of the negative mother complex and more consciously the patient was aware that the relationship with her father still needed work. Termination was successful in the context of a positive psychotherapeutic relationship and the client went on to continue to engage with life affirming experiences outside therapeutic container.

Abstrakts: Rakstā tiek aplūkots smilšu spēļu terapijas process ar pacienti, kura bija vērsusies pēc palīdzības sakarā ar pēcdzemdību depresiju. Savas dzīves laikā sievietei nācās sastapties arī ar onkoloģisku saslimšanu. Ir aprakstīti teorētiskie aspekti par agrīno bērnu traumatizāciju, psihisko disociāciju, un viņu saikni ar psihosomatisku (onkoloģiju) un depresijas saslimšanu. Tiek analizēta psihoterapijas procesa dinamika smilšu bildēs: no distances starp vājo ego un Patību līdz pacientes visas garīgās struktūras veseluma izveidošanos, kas simboliski izteikta mandalas formā. Ir parādīts, kā, pateicoties psihoterapijas procesam, negatīvā mātes kompleksa transformācija noveda ne tikai pie patoloģisko simptomu izzušanas, bet arī palīdzēja pacientei attīstīt un dziļi pārveidot savu sievišķo dvēseli visā tās integritātē, veicinot individuācijas procesa uzsākšanos.

Elisabeth’s Reise: Transformation eines Traumas
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Die Autorin beschreibt den psychotherapeutischen Prozess einer Frau mit einer Vorgeschichte von psychischem Traum und körperlichen Erkrankungen. Im Laufe der zweijährigen Therapie schuf der Klient fünfzehn Sandbilder. Sie erlebte eine Transformation des negativen Mutterkomplexes und wurde sich der Beziehung zu ihrem Vater bewusster. Das Ende der Therapie erfolgte im Rahmen einer positiven Übertragung. Die Klientin war nicht mehr depressiv und hatte sich voll und ganz dem Leben gewidmet.

RESUMEN: La autora describe el proceso psicoterapéutico de una mujer con una historia de trauma psicológico y enfermedad física. En el transcurso de dos años de terapia, la cliente creó quince escenas de juego de arena. La paciente experimentó una transformación del complejo materno negativo y se hizo más consciente de la relación con su padre.La terminación tuvo lugar en el contexto de una transferencia positiva. La clienta ya no estaba deprimida y se había comprometido plenamente con la vida fuera del contenedor analítico.

RÉSUMÉ: L'auteur décrit le processus psychothérapeutique d'une femme ayant une histoire de traumatisme psychologique et de maladie physique. Au cours de deux années de thérapie, la cliente a créé quinze scènes de jeu de sable. La patiente a connu une transformation du complexe négatif de la mère et est devenue plus consciente de la relation avec son père.La fin de la thérapie a eu lieu dans le contexte d'un transfert positif. La cliente n'était plus déprimée et s'était pleinement engagée dans la vie en dehors du cadre analytique.

Ela experienciou uma transformação do complexo materno negativo e tornou-se mais consciente do relacionamento com o pai. A terminação da terapia ocorreu no contexto de uma transferência positiva. A cliente não estava mais deprimida e tornou-se totalmente engajada na vida.

АННОТАЦИЯ: В статье описывается случай лечения пациентки с послеродовой депрессией. Рассмотрены теоретические аспекты формирования ранней детской травмы, психической диссоциации и их связи с развитием психосоматических (онкологических) и депрессивных заболеваний в последствии. Проанализирована динамика психотерапевтического процесса в песочных картинах: от дистанции между слабым эго и Самостью до формирования целостности всей психической структуры пациентки, символически выраженной в образе мандалы. Показано как благодаря процессу психотерапии трансформация негативного материнского комплекса привела не только к исчезновению патологических симптомов, но и помогла пациентке развить и глубоко преобразить свою женскую душу во всей её целостности, способствовала началу процесса индивидуации.
