Abstract
In our experience, dreams are sometimes depicted in the sandtray. In the process of representing them, the dreams are always deeply transformed to a greater or lesser extent: certain scenes or details are omitted from the sandtray image or, conversely, additional elements or characters, which were not present in the dream, appear there, revealing themselves to be bearers of further meanings. We asked ourselves, therefore, what sort of relationship might exist between the dream image and its representation and what this might mean in clinical practice. We try to answer this question by comparing a number of dreams, from among the many we have been able to observe, with their representations in the sandtray, and present during the session our way of treating this particular material. This paper was presented at the 21st ISST Congress: Origins, Evolution, Essentials, 2011, Ittingen, Switzerland.

Il Sogno nella Sabbiera
Abstract: L’idea di questo lavoro nasce dall’osservazione che i sogni talvolta vengono rappresentati nella sabbiera. Mi sono quindi interrogata su quale rapporto intercorra tra l’immagine onirica e la sua rappresentazione. Le forme che emergono dalla sabbia, gli oggetti scelti a rappresentare gli elementi del sogno, la posizione in cui vengono collocati, il tipo di relazione che si stabilisce tra di loro offrono elementi importanti per la comprensione del sogno. Inoltre spesso nell’immagine della sabbia vengono omessi alcune scene o dettagli o viceversa compaiono elementi o personaggi che nel sogno non erano presenti e che si rivelano portatori di ulteriori significati. Attraverso la rappresentazione nella sabbiera l’immagine onirica può essere guardata da una certa distanza che permette al paziente di prendere coscienza del messaggio del sogno in modo più immediato e diretto. Nella mia pratica clinica in questi casi il sogno non viene interpretato ma è la stessa immagine della sabbia che ne rappresenta l’interpretazione Nel lavoro verranno presentati alcune situazione cliniche allo scopo di focalizzare le molteplici sfaccettature del tema.
