Abstract
The aim of this paper is to propose a reflection on the different meanings of the sand itself and the different objects which can be used to create the sandtray picture. The sand represents the matrix, that maternal element from which every life originates. It symbolizes also the soma and thus can give voice to those nuclei of suffering inscribed in the body. From the point of view of alchemical symbolism, the sand can represent the Prima Materia. By the sand itself are expressed the deepest layers of the psyche, the more archaic and primitive emotions, those emotions and memories which are mainly inscribed in the body and cannot be expressed by words. The objects and figurines are the image of the inner theatre of the client, that is, a psychic level where the different characters of the inner world are already structured, even if they remain unconscious. The healing power of sandplay therapy results specifically from the possibility of integrating these different psychic aspects re-establishing psycho-physical wholeness. La Sabbia e gli Oggetti: Come i Differenti Strati della Psiche Si Manifestano nella Sabbiera
ASTRATTO: Scopo di questo lavoro e di proporre una riflessione sul differente significato della sabbia e degli oggetti che possono venire usati per creare un'immagine nella sabbiera. La sabbia rappresenta la matrice, l'elemento materno da cui trae origine ogni forma di vita. Rappresenta anche il corpo, e pertanto puo esprimere quei nuclei di sofferenza che nel corpo sono racchiusi. Dal punto di vista del simbolismo alchemico, la sabbia puo rappresentare la Prima Materia. Nella sabbia stessa trovano espressione gli strati piu profondi della psiche, le emozioni piu arcaiche e primitive, quelle emozioni e quei ricordi che non possono essere espresse verbalmente in quanto inscritti prevalentemente a livello somatico. Gli oggetti, in particolare le miniature, rappresentano piuttosto i personaggi del teatro interiore del paziente, cioe appartengono ad un livello psichico in cui queste figure sono ormai strutturate e differenziate, anche se rimangono inconscie. Il potere terapeutico della Sandplay Therapy deriva proprio dalla possibilita di mettere in comunicazione e integrare nella sabbiera questi diversi livelli psichici, ricostituendo cosi l'unita psico-fisica del paziente.
