ABSTRACT: This article reflects upon and examines the role of the hands in human development as well as their connection with brain activity and possible ways of becoming psychologically active in moments of creative blocks or depression. Examples of clients’ seemingling aimless use of their hands moving through the sand reveal spontaneous creation of meaningful symbols in the individuation process. pp.73-87
