Abstract
The ability to understand silence, through meditation or other spiritual practice, is an essential part of the training of a sandplay therapist, one of Dora Kalff’s “three roots” of sandplay. A Zen story is used to amplify the process of our training, of meeting our “true self.” Photos of the sandplay scenes of a young girl, mostly silent throughout therapy, are followed as she comes more fully into her confidence and her true self. Images related to goddesses from Egyptian mythology and contemporary fiction arise in her sandplay process, and the co-transference is clearly seen in her final tray.

Ein Treffen im Sand
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Die Fähigkeit Stille durch Meditation oder spirituelle Praxis zu verstehen ist ein essenzieller Teil im Training eines Sandspieltherapeuten da dies eine der »drei Wurzeln« von Dora Kalff’s Sandspiel repräsentiert. Die Sandbilder eines überwiegend schweigsamen Mädchens werden dargestellt und in ihrem letzten Sandbild wird die Coübertragung deutlich sichtbar.
