Abstract

The author discusses the use of the terms “sandtray,” “sandplay,” and “sandworld.” She suggests three distinguishing characteristics to differentiate other uses of sand, water and miniatures (swam) from Kalff’s sandplay: process, delayed interpretation, dual process.
