Abstract
This article focuses on the history of the ideas that form the theoretical foundations: the ground of Jungian based, analytically oriented sandplay therapy. The author notes that sandplay was created within a Jungian context. Some of the dialogues about sandplay and Jungian analysis have been fertile and integrative while others disintegrative and splitting. However, all of these conversations have added to the thinking about the interface of sandplay and analysis and how sandplay influences the clinical work in analytically oriented psychotherapy.
