Abstract
The author discusses the significance of the white bear in various cultures, including mythology and fairy tales. She reflects on the use of the polar bear figurine in the initial sandplay scenes created by three men. Each of these clients struggled with depression, isolation, complicated relationships with their mothers, and relationship issues with their women partners due to their negative mother complex. In therapy, these clients seemed to have expressed themselves and worked through their emotional struggles. She suggests that the white bear’s (polar bear miniature) appearance in these clients’ sandplay scenes may have indicated the beginning of an initiation process and the need to integrate feminine energies or the anima.

Die Kraft des Weissen Bären: Anima und Initiation im Sandspiel von Drei Männern
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Die Autorin bespricht die Bedeutung des weißen Bären in verschiedenen Kulturen, in der Mythologie und im Märchen. Sie reflektiert über die Verwendung der Eisbärenfigur in den ersten Sandspielszenen dreier Männer. Aufgrund ihres negativen Mutterkomplexes kämpfte jeder dieser Klienten mit Depressionen, Isolation und komplizierten Beziehungen zu ihren Müttern. Sie hatten auch Beziehungsprobleme mit ihren Partnerinnen. In der Therapie konnten sich diese Klienten ausdrücken und ihre emotionalen Probleme verarbeiteten. RESUMEN: La autora aborda el significado del oso blanco en diversas culturas, en la mitología y en los cuentos de hadas. Reflexiona sobre el uso de la figura del oso polar en las escenas iniciales de juegos de arena creadas por tres hombres. Debido a su complejo materno negativo, cada uno de estos clientes luchaba contra la depresión, el aislamiento y las relaciones complicadas con sus madres. También tenían problemas de relación con sus parejas femeninas. En terapia, estos clientes se expresaron y trabajaron sus luchas emocionales. La autora sugiere que la aparición del oso blanco (oso polar en miniatura) en las escenas de juegos de arena de estos clientes puede haber indicado el comienzo de un proceso de iniciación y la necesidad de integrar las energías femeninas o el ánima.

Le Pouvoir de L'Ours Blanc: Anima et Initiation dans le Sandplay de Trois Hommes
RÉSUMÉ: L'auteur discute de la signification de l'ours blanc dans diverses cultures, dans la mythologie et les contes de fées. Elle réfléchit à l'utilisation de la figure de l'ours polaire dans les scènes initiales de jeu de sable créées par trois hommes. En raison de leur complexe maternel négatif, chacun de ces clients a souffert de dépression, d'isolement et de relations compliquées avec leur mère. Ils avaient également des problèmes relationnels avec leurs partenaires féminines. En thérapie, ces clients se sont exprimés et ont travaillé sur leurs luttes émotionnelles.
