Abstract

In response to Dr. Lorraine Freedle’s article "Sandplay with Traumatic Brain Injured Adults" [published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy, 16(2), 2007] Dr. Morena addresses issues surrounding evidence-based research as it applies to sandplay therapy. The importance of qualitative, phenomenological research using a multiple case-study design is acknowledged as a way to identify patterns and describe behavioral outcomes. Morena points out how Freedle’s study establishes a viable template and methodology for studying and quantifying information derived from sandplay, and emphasizes its contribution to the field of sandplay research.
