Abstract
In this proceeding article, from the ISST 24th Congress,“Destruction and Creation in the Fertile Fields of Sandplay Therapy,” which took place in Kailua-Kona in 2017, Deborah Bedford-Strohm presents a therapy process involving sandplay images that evoke both world creation and human conception. The client, "Ruth" struggles to overcome panic and depression. By addressing the life-blocking aspects of archetypal images of God as father/parent and her personal parental complex, the client moves from anger to rage to sadness to joyful freedom. This presentation describes a creative path integrating multiple modalities: sandplay, active imagination, verbal therapy, inner child work, prayer, journaling and creative writing. In so doing, Ruth is able to bear witness to the injunctives of her internalized personal mother and accept the archetypal parent as a source of healing and restoration. From the outset of the client’s process, the theme of creation is highlighted, with the creation of human life—the client’s own conception, inability to conceive and the potential conception of a new, unafraid self. Through the integration of shadow material and the rebuilding of life-affirming images the client experiences renewal.

Ruths Schöpfungen im Sand: Dekonstruktion und Rekonstruktion von Eltern- und Göttlichen Imagos
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Die Autorin stellt einen therapeutischen Prozess mit Sandbildern vor, die Assoziationen sowohl mit der Weltschöpfung als auch mit dem menschlichen Empfängnis hervorrufen. Die Klientin »Ruth« bemühte sich, Panik und Depressionen zu überwinden. Während die Klientin die lebensblockierenden Aspekte archetypischer Bilder von Gott als Vater / Elternteil und ihren persönlichen Elternkomplex anschaut, verschiebt sich ihr Zorn zu Wut, ihre Traurigkeit zu freudiger Freiheit. Diese Präsentation beschreibt einen kreativen Prozess, der mehrere Modalitäten integriert: Sandspiel, aktive Imagination, verbale Therapie, Arbeit am inneren Kind, Tagebuch schreiben und kreatives Schreiben. Auf diese Weise konnte Ruth die Belehrungen ihrer verinnerlichten persönlichen Mutter ertragen und den archetypischen Elternteil als Quelle der Heilung und Wiederherstellung akzeptieren. Durch die Integration von Schattenmaterial und dem Wiederaufbau lebensbejahender Bilder erfährt die Klientin eine Erneuerung.

RESUMEN: El autor presenta un proceso terapéutico que implica imágenes de sandplay que evocan tanto la creación del mundo como la concepción humana. El cliente, "Ruth" luchó para superar el pánico y la depresión. Al abordar los aspectos que bloquean la vida de las imágenes arquetípicas de Dios como padre/padre y su complejo paterno personal, la cliente pasa de la ira, a la rabia, a la tristeza, a la libertad alegre. Esta presentación describe un camino creativo que integra múltiples modalidades: juego de arena, imaginación activa, terapia verbal, trabajo interior del niño, diario y escritura creativa. De esta manera, Ruth es capaz de soportar los imperativos de su madre personal internalizada y aceptar al padre arquetípico como fuente de curación y restauración. A través de la integración del material de las sombras y la reconstrucción de imágenes que afirman la vida, el cliente experimenta una renovación.

RÉSUMÉ: L'auteur présente un processus thérapeutique impliquant des images de jeu de sable qui évoquent à la fois la création du monde et la conception humaine. La cliente, « Ruth », a lutté pour surmonter la panique et la dépression. En abordant les aspects vitaux des images archétypiques de Dieu en tant que père/parent et son complexe parental personnel, la cliente passe de la colère à la rage, à la tristesse et à la liberté joyeuse. Cette présentation décrit un cheminement créatif intégrant de multiples modalités: jeu de sable, imagination active, thérapie verbale, travail intérieur de l'enfant, tenue d'un journal et écriture créative. Ce faisant, Ruth est capable de supporter les injonctions de sa mère personnelle intériorisée et d'accepter le parent archétype comme une source de guérison et de restauration. Grâce à l'intégration de la matière de l'ombre et à la reconstruction d'images d'affirmation de la vie, le client fait l'expérience d'un renouveau.

RESUMO: A autora apresenta um processo terapêutico que contem imagens de sandplay que evocam a criação do mundo e a concepção humana. A cliente, "Ruth", lutou para superar pânico e depressão. Abordando os aspectos que bloqueiam as imagens vitais arquetípicas de Deus como pai e seu complexo parental pessoal, a cliente passa de ira para raiva, da tristeza e da liberdade contente. Esta apresentação descreve um caminho criativo que integra várias modalidades: Sandplay, imaginação ativa, terapia verbal, trabalho com a criança interior, registros no diário e redação criativa. Com esse processo a paciente é capaz de aguentar as injunções/proibições de sua mãe pessoal internalizada e perceber o pai arquetípico como fonte de cura e restauração. Através da integração do material sombrio e da reconstrução de imagens a vida afirmativas, a cliente experiencia renovação.

יצירתה של רות בארגז החול: פירוק ובנייה מחדש של האימגו ההורי והאימגו האלוהי

תקציר: הכותבת מציגה תהליך טיפולי אשר בו דימויי משחק בחול המזכירים את בריאת העולם והיווצרות האדם. המטופלת התמודדה עם פניקה ועם דיכאון. על ידי עימות עם אספקטים חוסמי-חיים של דימויים ארכיטיפיים של אלוהות כהורה, ועם הקומפלקס ההורי האישי שלה, היא נעה מכעס, לזעם, לעצבות ולחירות מלאת שמחה. הצגת מקרה זו מתארת מסע יצירתי בשילוב אופנויות: משחק בחול, דמיון אקטיבי, טיפול מילולי, עבודה עם הילד הפנימי, כתיבת יומן וכתיבה יצירתית. המטופלת עשתה אינטגרציה של חומרי צל וחוותה בניה מחדש של הדימוי הפנימי ההורי כחיובי ומרפא.
