Abstract

Menopausal women face a change in identity and in individuality with the cessation of monthly blood flow and the loss of fertility. Women in menopause have no rites of passage to guide and sustain them while they undergo the ordeal of these huge physical and psychological alterations. Sandplay process functions as a rite of passage whereby women can experience, consciously and unconsciously the stages of transition; they can find their own center in the midst of the life-altering change. The article includes a clinical case.
