Abstract

Sandplay today may be categorized as an expressive arts therapy medium, and used in group work with children. Details of the visual reality of the sandplay setting in a children’s group impact on group dynamics and on the work itself. Consideration should be given to the use of water, unity of appearance, quality and placement of sandtrays, privacy and methods of identifying the maker using name tags.
