Abstract

This presentation considers the need for inclusivity of the masculine and feminine origins in the theoretical basis of sandplay therapy. The challenge is made to the misunderstanding of Neumann’s work and its foundation in sandplay theory. The process for men involves the acquaintance with both the masculine and feminine origins, referred to as “co-determinants.” Through the exploration of several men’s sandplay processes, the author shows the discovery of the male figure, which prompts and provides the energy for the journey to individuation.
