Abstract
Abstract: Jill Kaplan, author of this Reflection, writes: “In her [Lenore Steinhardt’s] most recent book, Sandplay: The Image Speaks for Itself. Signposts, Symbols and Themes on the Path of the Sandplay Journey, Lenore Steinhardt brings her many talents and influences to bear on her pathways dedicated to sandplay and art therapy work. She covers the basics and essentials of sandplay work, which will be useful to those new to sandplay, and also offers many vignettes of sandplay process to deepen one's appreciation of the mysteries of the unfolding psyche. Steinhardt also offers her perspective as an artist, an art therapist, as a lifelong student of image and symbol, and as one who has worked with those undergoing the trauma of displacement and war. The combination of these sensitivities and ways of paying attention provide a rich offering that highlights the variety in sandplay therapy.”

Sie behandelt die Grundlagen und wesentlichen Elemente der Sandspielarbeit, hilfreich für diejenigen, die neu im Sandspiel sind, und bietet zugleich viele Vignetten sandspielerischer Prozesse, um das Verständnis für die Mysterien der sich entfaltenden Psyche zu vertiefen. Steinhardt bietet darüber hinaus ihre Perspektive als Künstlerin, Kunsttherapeutin, lebenslange Schülerin von Bild und Symbol sowie als jemand, der mit Menschen gearbeitet hat, die Traumata durch Vertreibung und Krieg erlebt haben.
