ABSTRACT: This article explores a sandplay journey of a boy just reaching adolescence who is confronted with a challenge of Crohn’s Disease. During his time in therapy he began to make meaning from illness, as he approached adolescence. His sandplay process expands understanding of what it means to live an embodied life. The progressive work can be followed through imagery, symbol, synchronistic events, neuroscience, and physiology of illness.
