Tool Kit 2021 – Tool Kit 2021 – The Transcendent Function: Amplification through Images
Presenter: Jill Kaplan, CST-T
When: Friday November 12, 2021, 12-1 PST
Jung saw the transcendent function as a mechanism of the psyche which reconciles the unconscious and conscious and guides one to new paths. In the course of sandplay work we are able to witness, through form and image, symbols and processes which evoke this central Jungian concept. This interactive one-hour class will introduce and explain Jung’s idea of the transcendent function through case material and symbolic imagery. Participants will be invited ahead of time to submit 1-3 images which will be used to amplify and deepen participants’ understanding of the transcendent and related symbols/imagery.
