Description:  Animal symbolism, often speaking of instincts and energy, is often present in a sandplay process. This presentation will focus on the rich symbolism of the giraffe, using its magnificent body as template. The positive and healing side of giraffe symbolism, such as gaining perspective, rising above issues, and seeing into the future will be highlighted. We will also explore the shadow side of giraffe symbolism, the giraffe in art and mythology, and the giraffe as a symbol of the therapist. The presentation will end with some case examples, and highlight beautiful images throughout.
