Mystery, ceremony, and ritual within the temenos of sandplay work will be explored in this daylong workshop, August 22, 9 to 5 pm.

It is well-known that Dora Kalff, the founder of Jungian Sandplay, had deep connections to Eastern philosophy and meditation practice. Although she did not speak often of how her own spiritual practices impacted the therapy room, there is a story of a child in her office creating a ritual scene during his session that was quite like the one Kalff had been engaged with just earlier up-stairs with Tibetan monks living in her home.

You are invited to join in an interactional workshop in Sooke, BC offered by ISST teaching members Jean Parkinson, Judy Zappacosta and Jill Kaplan. We will explore together the meeting of spirit and matter in sandplay practice, and how connections among body, matter and spirit are activated in the sandplay journey. In addition to theoretical presentation, we will invite participants into an experiential encounter with the spiritual dimensions of the sandplay journey. Case presentations will include material on body and psyche, symbolic images of the inner experience, and multi-cultural expressions within sandplay process.
Individual supervision available on Friday, August 21 by arrangement with presenters.
