Meet your law and ethics requirement for California CE – CAMFT BBS Approved Continuing Education Provider #28347

Delving deeply into the archetype of Integrity, the law and ethics of Depth Psychology, and the Buddhist principles of the Ten Paramitas, ancient practices honed over millennia, we will consider the STA and ISST ethical guidelines for sandplay therapists. We will examine our current professional, legal and ethical standards, emphasizing compassion and the imperative to “do no harm.” Small group work will give participants an experience of thoughtful, compassionate, ethical decision-making that honors both Masculine and Feminine, thinking and feeling.

Educational objectives: To bring masculine and feminine, thinking and feeling, together in our internal work with ethical dilemmas in sandplay, and to learn two new models for assessing our ethical choices.

Learning objectives: By the end of this weekend course, students will be able to

  • Define “ethics”
  • Name three of the Ten Paramitas
  • Name three ethical principles found in the STA or ISST Code of Ethics
  • Explain the training, education and experience needed to ethically practice sandplay therapy
  • Discuss whether to follow state laws or STA ethics guidelines if there is a difference between the two.
  • Discuss three common ethical dilemmas in sandplay therapy

This course meets qualifications for 6 hours of education credit toward certification for Sandplay Therapists of America / International Society of Sandplay Therapists (STA/ISST).
