Delving into the archetype of Integrity, the ethics of depth psychology, and the Buddhist principles of the Ten Paramitas, ancient practices honed over millennia, we will consider the Sandplay Therapists of America (STA) and International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST) ethical guidelines for sandplay therapists. We will examine our current professional and ethical standards, emphasizing compassion and the imperative to “do no harm.” Small group work will give participants an experience of thoughtful, compassionate, ethical decision-making that honors both masculine and feminine principles. will focus on ethics in-depth psychotherapy and the Ten Paramitas as ethical guidelines from Buddhism. Then we will examine STA and ISST ethical guidelines, and work with vignettes in small groups.
