Session 1: The History & Evolution of Sandplay therapy from Lowenfeld to Kalff to later developments and an exploration of the practical, clinical, and archetypal meaning of the and tools of Sandplay
Session 2: Core precepts of Sandplay practice with children, special considerations in working with them, and recognizing developmental levels of play in Sandplay.
Session 3: Unique aspects of Sandplay practice with adolescents including resistance to “just playing”, their increased capacity for intentional metaphoric expression, and recognizing developmental levels of play in adolescent Sandplay.

Betty Jackson, LCSW, LSW, CST-T is a clinical social worker with more than 45 years of experience in mental health agency, school, and private practice settings. She began her Sandplay training with Dora Kalff in 1975 and became a Teaching Member of Sandplay Therapists of America and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy in 1991. She has published numerous journal articles and co-edited Into the Heart of Sandplay. She has served two terms each on the Board of Trustees for STA and ISST, and is the current ISST Honorary Secretary. Betty has extensive experience international teaching experience, both in person and online. She maintains a private practice in Christiana, Pennsylvania where she founded The Center for Jungian Sandplay to offer Sandplay process, consultation, and training in the tradition of Dora Kalff.
