Presenter(s) – Linda Cunningham, PhD, MFT, CST-T

This weekend training teaches the basics of sandplay therapy in a small group setting near the picturesque Marina in San Francisco. Several times each year, this training is offered to therapists and therapists-in-training. It is always a rich, rewarding and fun weekend, with a large experiential component–you’ll have the experience of both making and witnessing a sandtray.

Learning goals:

1. Be able to create a psychotherapy setting for sandplay with necessary equipment

2. Begin to utilize sandplay in your practice

3. Demonstrate practical sandplay skills with clients

4. Discuss the importance of symbols

5. Differentiate between “sandplay” and “sandtray”

6. Explain the importance of providing “the free and protected space” in sandplay

7. Discuss ethical, competent ways to use sandplay with diverse client populations
