Estelle Weinrib’s Final Teaching Legacy…Now Available on DVD

Following the success of her first book, Images of the Self, Estelle Weinrib planned to write a second and was collecting theoretical and case material to include in it. Due to her illness and subsequent death in 2005, she was unable to complete the book. Materials she had intended to include were contained in three videos, prepared for presentation at professional meetings, and in an interview. She left these materials with Barbara Weller in 1992, asking that they be released after her death, with the consent of her son and daughter.

Thanks to Kenneth Weinrib and Amy Weinrib Greenfield, the tapes have been collected in three DVDs. “Estelle Weinrib Presents” (sold separately) contains three presentations: What is a Sandplay Process; The Case of the Dancer; and The Case of The Artist. Each is a separate presentation, prepared for Jungian conferences, contained in a 2-DVD set. The first includes a description of the Sandplay process of a young man, a recovering heroin addict; the second describes her work with a young woman, dominated by her mother, and the third, her work with woman, daughter of alcoholic parents, considering divorce. In each she details the archetypal content of the patients‘ work.

The third DVD is the interview, “A Conversation With Estelle Weinrib” taped with Barbara Weller in 1991. Estelle shares reminiscences of her work as a patient and then a colleague of Dora Kalff, her thoughts about Sandplay training and the necessary prerequisites for ethical use of this modality. She speaks of the emerging Sandplay society, and her hopes for the future of Sandplay Therapy.

These are the last remaining materials of her teaching legacy.
