16-17\, 2018\n\nThe following two programs are intended for mental health
counselors in all settlings\, school counselors\, psychologists\, art the
rapists\, and pastoral counselors - mental health practitioners that treat
children and adults. Participants can use these credit hours toward certi
fication with the Sandplay Therapists of America and with the Association
of Play Therapy.  See below for CEU approval in Ohio and Indiana.\n\nSand
play is a non-verbal three-dimensional form of psychotherapy and play ther
apy used with children and adults. There are different theoretical methods
of working with sand and miniatures. Dora Kalff created this method. Her
intent is for the unconscious to be in charge of the process. In this non
-directive treatment\, the key to sandplay and many forms of play therapy
is that the unconscious is invited to direct the process allowing the psyc
he to be restructured and healing to take place.\n\nPlease scroll down to
see both offerings. Registration form with cost is at the end.\n\n“Sandp
lay Therapy: Getting Started” \n\nAn introductory program\n\nFri. March
9\, 2018\, 9:30-4:30 pm\n\nThis program is designed to give the basics of
sandplay and how to begin using this method of play therapy treatment wit
h your clients.  Topics include: history and origins of sandplay\; Kalffi
an theory\; basic Jungian terminology\, practical considerations such as s
etting up\, note taking\, pictures\, introducing sandplay\, using sand in
non-traditional settings\, and talking about the benefits of Sandplay and
play therapy to clients.  A case will be presented to demonstrate the ef
ficacy of sandplay.\n\nGoals and Objectives: Participants will:\n\n*Have a

ay therapy shows its efficacy in treating trauma and abuse.  As a non-ve
rbal\, play therapy technique\, it is ideal for use with children but also
very successful with adults.  Attending this workshop will introduce you
to the powerful world of Sandplay therapy through case examples and vario
us case vignettes which demonstrate how Sandplay helps clients resolve tra
uma\, abuse\, and developmental wounding as well as more traditional thera
py issues such as depression and anxiety.  The child's world is the world
of symbol so any play therapy technique is their language but also a powe
rful way to help adults without re-traumatizing them. Sandplay is rooted i
n Jungian theory and is a non-directive treatment like many of the play t
herapy techniques.  This session will continue to define what sandplay is
