 ention has always been offered to reflect the roots of sandplay therapy th
 at include safe and protected play\, Jungian theory\, and the practice of 
 contemplative presence in our sessions. We have witnessed success in diver
 se populations and multi-cultural settings. Dora Kalff’s life and travel
 s mirrored her belief in this possibility. Consideration is offered on the
  themes of ritual and ceremony as it appears in sandplay process. The idea
 s of passages\, and pilgrimage are often thresholds crossed in both inner 
 and outer ways. We will discuss and see case work that offer a First Natio
 ns woman\, born in the Arctic tundra\, an opportunity to reconnect with ri
 tuals and spiritual practices that helped to heal her grief\, her deep ali
 enation\, and abandonment. She wandered for many years before finding her 
 inner spiritual home\, and her own deep indigenous perspective that then g
 uided her life in new and transformative ways.
