ABSTRACT: The author explores aspects of interior rhythms defined both universally and personally within the psyche. The article describes the importance of creating a relationship and container for the inner life of symbols and imagery. The author describes the inner process required to work with both archetypal and instinctual energies as they manifest in dreams, sandplay and the physical body. She also traces the historical context that informed Carl Jung regarding the nature of psyche as an entity inclusive of body, mind and soul, and the unitary field seen both in quantum physics and Jung’s map of the psyche. Casework in sandplay exemplifies the dimensions of interior rhythms.
