ABSTRACT: This article is the concluding chapter in a book, SAND, WATER, SILENCE: THE EMBODIMENT OF SPIRIT, An Exploration of Matter and Psyche in Kalffian Sandplay Therapy. Through silence and stillness we can have glimpses of the “internal geography” of sandplay images as they affect the very materiality of the body. In this way there is access to the “somatic memories” which carry along the old wounds, pain and grief in the body. These expressions arising out of that materiality are a critically important a the perceiving consciousness and are an intrinsic part of the creative mystery of healing. Often what we experience is a bridging of what is perceived as "duality" to wholeness leading to significant changes with the body itself. Brief clinical examples are given.
