Akimoto, Michiko; Honda, Masataka; Fukinishi, Isao and Kudo, Hiroku. Sandplay Therapy with a Child with End-Stage Renal Disease and Kidney Transplant Volume VI, Number 1, 1997 This is a case description of an adolescent girl, with end stage renal disease. She was maintained on CAPD, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, until a kidney was available. Separation anxiety manifests more often with these children, than with medically healthy children. An abnormal mother-child relationship develops. School maladaptation is often seen. This sandplay case of five trays begins to treat psychogenic pain, five years after a transplant. Further study is encouraged related to sandplay use with those having organ transplants. HEALTH |
